Meet the Team

Allen Plunkett, President, CEO

Allen started his career in retail, working for grocery stores and then PetSmart until getting into the staffing world in 1998. After working for one recruiting firm until 2002, he struck out with a friend to launch Phoenix Staff. Allen and his wife love the fact that they have a stellar team of people working towards a common goal – employing good people in good jobs. Outside of work, they are fortunate to be surrounded by a great extended family in Florida and California. A graduate of Florida Atlantic University, Allen is dedicated to his team and to helping identify ways to help people growth their careers and find a place where they can love what they do and where they do it. When not spending time with his wife and son, he enjoys running, camping, reading, working and rooting for the Red Sox.

Matt Owens, Senior Recruiter, Phoenix

A graduate of Northern Arizona University, Matt Owens has been in the recruiting industry for over 13 years. He joined Phoenix Staff in January 2006 and is tasked with helping develop the Technical side of the business. Matt is highly regarded for his ability to cultivate long-term relationships with candidates and his determination to identify the right fit for their background and career goals. The key to his success stems from considering the best results for the candidate and the client equally when looking at an opportunity.

Heather Otto, Recruiter/Account Manager, LV

Heather holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and an Associate Degree in Human Resource Administration and she has a professional background in retail sales and customer service as well. Heather was a retail business owner for over four years, during which, she learned the importance of relationship-building and customer service. She moved to Las Vegas two years ago with her husband and their three fur babies from Fresno, CA. In her free time she enjoys going off-roading with her husband, exploring haunted locations, and shooting her 9mm Beretta Nano.

Ben Wilkening, Account Manager, Phoenix

Though originally from Seattle, Ben now finds himself in Phoenix, having been brought onto the Phoenix Staff team in the summer of 2013 to proliferate business development opportunities in the region. He holds a marketing degree from Western Washington University, and first launched his career at an internet marketing firm before he became an operations manager in the legal tech industry. Ben’s attitude, passion for technology and ambition for helping people complement his aptitude for business development and building professional relationships. Away from the office, Ben spends every second of downtime with a podcast in his ear and is fanatical for craft brews and personal vanity. One day he will be a 3D printer with a penchant for decoding ancient languages while he slowly makes strides to invent his own; all in service of the minted nation he will ultimately lord over.

Erin “Q” Broccolo, Executive Assistant

Erin was brought in to Phoenix Staff in April 2014 as a Presentation Specialist – editing resumes and job descriptions; growing our social media presence; and other document writing and editing. She soon took over office management duties and has become the office go-to for all things needing to be-done. Erin graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors in Broadcasting, which she utilized for several years in Los Angeles working in television and film, before realizing that L.A. just wasn’t home and returned to Arizona. She lives in Phoenix with her husband, Paul, and their sweet and silly pit bull mixes, Brigid and Cosette. When the season is right, you can find Erin, IPA in hand, watching football – Go Devils! Go Irish! Go G-Men! And when those dark days of no football roll in, Erin and Paul can be found watching any media having to do with superheroes, travelling through space and time, epic battles over a metal chair, or anything produced by Netflix.

Scott Miller, Recruiter, Austin

After graduating from Texas A&M with a focus on team development, Scott Miller moved to Austin. After a little while he realized he wanted to help people along with the next step in their careers and Phoenix Staff was love at first sight. Originally from Dallas, Scott loves watching Dirk Nowitzki and the rest of the Mavericks win every basketball game with his loyal pup Leroy.

Norman Furley, Recruiting Manager, Austin

Norman’s career path is like a Jackson Pollack painting. It’s messy, colorful, disjointed and confusing. But in the same way, from certain angles, it’s kind of cool. A graduate of Texas A&M University, Norman embarked on a path to become an F/A-18 fighter pilot in the USMC. After 5 days at Officer Candidate School in Quantico, he was injured and given a medical discharge. Then he went to seminary, started and sold a billboard company, a crawfish farm, an ornamental iron company, sold commercial real estate, bought and sold oil and gas leases, was a part owner of a VIP Ticketing/Online Fan Club service, obtained Series 7, 63 and 55 licenses to become a Proprietary Equity Trader while loving the opportunity to manage the Austin office of Phoenix Staff. He is married to a woman named Katherine who he greatly admires. They have 4 sons together and as a consequence, they are often exhausted with joy.

Kendall Zachary, Sourcer, Austin

Kendall graduated from Angelo State University with a B.A. in History in 2012 with minor in Communication. During his time at Angelo State he participated in a study abroad summer where he visited 11 different cities in 5 countries in Europe. He was the President of the Honor Society for Greek Members. He was born in Dallas, TX, which might be the best city ever invented by mankind. He has quite a bit of family in the New Orleans area as well so he has a love of spicy food… a lot. Kendall likes that in the recruiting business the end goal is to get somebody a career which could potentially change their lives for the better. He’s a pretty cool guy and loves talking with candidates and seeing what they’ve been up to and how they’ve gotten to the point they are at now. When not at work he stays busy watching every sport there is and gaining as much sports knowledge as humanly possible; addicted is a strong word but he does love some sports. Brianne Shintaku, Senior Recruiter, Las Vegas

Brianne is an experienced Full Cycle Recruiter skilled in vendor relations/management, behavioral interviewing, and salary negotiation. She possesses a unique ability to lower turnover based on strategic and creative sourcing and networking. Brianne has a strong strategic vision and a drive to do great work. Her Philosophy: “Connecting the most qualified person with the ideal job is what I do best! I look at recruiting as a puzzle and both the candidate and the job/company have to be a great fit to create a mutually beneficial situation. This is a challenge that I thrive on every day!” Born and raised primarily in Southern California, Brianne is a die-hard Los Angeles Kings hockey fan so you’ll see her sporting lots of Black, Silver and Purple October through June. Her 2 rescue dogs are also big fans (maybe because they get a treat every time the Kings score)!

Taylor McPhail, Sourcer, Las Vegas

Taylor, a second generation Las Vegas native, began her career in guest relations and hospitality management. Her dedication for connecting passionate people eventually brought her to Phoenix Staff. In Taylor’s free time, she enjoys going on epicurean adventures with her Fiancé, obsessing over football - Go Packers! - spoiling her fur babies, and naps.

Kendall Murphy, Sourcer, Austin

Kendall earned her BA in Public Policy with a focus in Criminal Justice at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She was born and raised in the heart of the Hill Country; Wimberley, Texas. After graduating college she moved to Austin, Texas with her two cats and Siberian husky. Kendall has a natural desire to research and help people which are a few reasons she loves being a sourcer. Kendall treats every person she meets as a new friend and truly cares about placing her new friends on the right career path. She enjoys music, steak and the San Antonio Spurs.
